What is Zirconium Copper?

Adding a small amount of zirconium to copper can increase the softening temperature of copper. Adding zirconium to increase the softening temperature will still maintain excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Even a small amount of zirconium can raise the temperature of pure copper by 300 degrees Celsius.

The best zirconium copper can be created without dimensional changes. Using an oxygen free copper basis will reduce the risk of internal porosity due to hydrogen embrittlement. Zirconium Copper is excellent for welding and electron beam welding.

There are several advantages to zirconium copper. These two elements combined offer many benefits over other items. Zirconium Copper provides a higher softening temperature than just pure copper alone. Using zirconium copper will give you a high electrical and thermal conductivity. One more advantage to using zirconium copper is that it is oxygen free.

Due to its abundance of benefits, zirconium copper can be used in several different applications. It has many uses. Zirconium Copper can be used in spot welding electrodes, semiconductor bases, and radial stalks for generator rotors. MIG/MAG welding contact tips, commutators bars, and continuous casting moulds are more applications that work well with zirconium copper.

When it comes to copper wires, there are many elements to choose. There is byrillium copper wire, zirconium copper wire, and more. Zirconium Copper is an excellent choice if you will be using the product for welding.
