ROUND EDGE FLAT WIRE

American Wire Gauge (B&S) Weight & Footage Table

HOW TO USE FLAT WIRE WEIGHT TABLES

SQUARE EDGE FLAT WIRE

Read Directly from Table II

ROUND EDGE FLAT WIRE

To determine weight per 1000 feet of Round Edge Beryllium Copper Flat Wire, the appropriate “Correction Factor” in Table I (Below) is applied to the weight taken from “Weight Table II for Square Edge Flat Wire.

EXAMPLE

To find LB/1000 FT .010 x .020 Round Edge Flat Wire

Note:

Width/Thickness Ratio = 2.0

From Weight Table II: LB/1000 FT .010 x .020 . . . . 0.72

Multiply by: factor for 2.0 Width/Thickness Ratio . . . x .92

Answer: LB/1000 FT Round Edge Flat Wire . . . . . . 0.66

To convert Pounds to Kilograms, multiply by .4536. To convert Feet to Meters, multiply by .3048.

Example from table:

16 gauge/.010 = 1.83 lb per 1000 feet

1.83 pound 1000 feet x .3048 x .4536

.83 kilogram 304.8 meters

16 gauge/.010 = .83 kilogram per 304.8 meters
